Screen Writing: Online Style and Techniques

(Navigation and Page Layouts)
There is a navigation bar that is on the top of the page that does give link to other sections of the site. Plain solid color with the rounded off playing over the plain two color background that of course includes pink.That the bottom of the main page blog there is the navigation to skip to other pages of archived posts. The bottom presents with a hyperlink set of what was on the navigation bar, but without the presentation.
One suggestion that I would make is to have a specialized header that would include the site name and the navigation. Special thing about it would be that when you scroll down to the point where you can’t view the top any more there will be a mini version of the top of the page that will follow you down that will have the navigation bar still available to you to travel to the different parts of the site.
The very layout as I come in I find to be quite narrow, putting the main update reel and the side bar getting really too crunched together. I have to note that the definite color theme here is pink and it is pretty used only in it’s solid form, and no other transforms to follow with it. The top news is very inappropriately placed at the lower end of the side bar where the viewers won’t be able to see it until they scroll down to find it. The site list their followers on the front where they are not suppose to be. People come to get the news of the writers and not to get to know others that watch on to the site. Completely useless feature that could be better utilized. At the bottom of the main page there will be found spin off sites with related bits and bite that users may be interested in looking into.

(Consistency and Tone and Voice)
The consistency of Perez Hilton’s site works very well. All of the top stories and what has been seen on TV is always in the same spot and is updated as the stories come in. The graphics as far as the pictures and font of the articles go. The navigations of the site are not entirely consistent. One link may just simply bring you to an article on the same website where another one may bring you to another one of his websites all together. The navigation of the site was given thought only as to where to place you for the articles you want to read and no way to get back to the beginning without using the back arrow button.
The consistencies of advertisements are definitely there. They all are geared towards what would be considered a “homosexual lifestyle.” The movies and TV shows of course promote themselves whereas the advertisements are geared towards gay pride merchandise or all sorts of fashion items (shoes, dresses, etc). It almost appears as though it was geared towards women and homosexual me.
The tone of the site is rather “out there.” It is very full of life as most of the colors used are any shade of pink. It goes back to how the website is geared towards a certain audience. It is very sarcastic in the way the stories are written. It is almost as if you actually hear wit as you read it.

The writing quality of Perezhilton.com is less than desirable. The writing is more of a blogger style. Perez Hilton is known as the king or queen of gossip and the ultimate blogger. His site took off but instead of changing his style to please all viewers, he kept it the same as it has always been. The writing is at times funny but then there are times when the line is crossed. Free speech is something that has been given and fought for, but there is a time when free speech should not exceed the FTC regulations. The writing is more in a conversational style and not professional.
With all negative aspects said, the site organization is very good. The site is well put together and easy to navigate. There are advertisements on both sides and the blog is in the middle of the page. The advertisements are a smart idea because of the amount of money the advertising clients pay for their promotion to be used. The background of the site is usually a new television series or a film that is up and coming. The background attracts viewers because it shows that the site is up to date and it also allows media influence. As for the middle of the page where the blog is, it is set up with videos, pictures, and writing about the celebrities. There is a top of the page that is clear and concise and at the bottom there are page numbers to click on and go further back in the blog. This makes the site very organized and up to date as well as very easy to navigate.

The pictures are fine to look at, but the drawings are sometimes vulgar and very offensive. There are times when a female celebrity in the picture who is unattractive or not liked by Perez, is draw with male genitalia on her.
